How we collect, use, share and protect your personal information, in line with POPIA.

1. Introduction

Afrimark Travel & Tours (registered as Afrimark Travel and Tours, CIPC 2024/413640/07) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

Depending on the service you request, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, telephone number and preferred contact method
  • Travel details such as destinations, dates, traveller numbers and service preferences
  • Company or group details where you book on behalf of an organisation
  • Passport and identity details, where these are required to issue a ticket or prepare a visa application
  • Records of our correspondence with you, including enquiry references and internal notes

3. Why we process your information

We process your personal information in order to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and prepare quotations
  • Make reservations with airlines, hotels, tour operators, transport providers and insurers
  • Administer payments, invoices and refunds
  • Assist with visa applications and travel documentation, where requested
  • Keep records required by law and for our own accounting purposes
  • Send you service information about your booking, and marketing only where you have consented

4. Sharing your information

We share only the information necessary to fulfil your booking with the relevant suppliers, which may include airlines, consolidators, global distribution systems, hotels, transport providers, tour operators and insurers. Some of these suppliers are located outside South Africa, and their processing is subject to their own privacy terms and applicable law.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Security and sensitive documents

Enquiry data is stored in a secured database with access limited to authorised staff. Sensitive documents such as passport copies are handled under controlled access, retained only for as long as the purpose requires and are never published on this website.

Please do not send passport scans, banking details or one-time passwords through website forms or unsecured messaging. A consultant will advise you on a secure method where documents are required.

6. Retention

We retain enquiry and booking records for as long as is necessary to service you and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, after which the records are deleted or anonymised.

7. Cookies

This website uses only the cookies and local storage necessary for the site to function and to keep administrators signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. Where analytics or marketing cookies are introduced in future, a cookie notice will request your consent first.

8. Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw your consent to marketing, or object to processing. Please contact us at afrimarktravelandtour@gmail.com or on 082 429 2201 and we will respond within a reasonable period.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

9. Consent

By submitting a form on this website and ticking the consent box, you agree that we may store and use the details you provide in order to respond to your enquiry and arrange the services you request.
